Expertise
An experienced property manager is a good one! Property managers need to have a good know-how about the industry, the area and you. Working with someone who lives and works in the area your investment property is located in in gives you access to inside knowledge. They know the area and, provided they’ve taken the time to learn about you, they are more likely to find you the perfect fit.
Focus
Any property manager worth their salt will have a clear focus and drive. The client is obviously a main priority, but it needs to go beyond that to show real commitment. For example, here at Property Solutions 101, we are maintenance focused. We conduct routine inspections with licensed tradespeople. This preventative approach aims to reduce upkeep costs of problems that may arise in the future – saving you time and money. A property manager whose only focus is making a profit for themselves is not worth your business.
Character
As human beings, we have been taught to follow our gut feeling. It goes without saying that a property manager who is closed off and unhelpful, is probably not your best option. You need to instead consider someone who is excited about your business and will treat you like a priority. We believe that showing our clients care and respect creates an element of trust and mutual understanding – which is essential in any professional relationship.
